"On Monday March 1st BBC Radio Wales is spending a whole day celebrating Welsh musical talent, discussing the impact of the Welsh music industry on the wider economy and showcasing some of the best up and coming bands that Wales has to offer.

There'll be plenty of live music throughout the day from artists including Swansea rockers Kids in Glass Houses, The Alarm lead singer Mike Peters and West Wales alternative pop band Paper Aeroplanes. Each artist will also perform their interpretation of a Welsh classic.

On Wales Music Day and afterwards check this page regularly as we'll be updating it with photos and videos of the live sessions and special guests.


Coming Up - 1st March
Good Morning Wales (6 AM - 9 AM)

Nick Servini will be looking at the economics of the Welsh Music Industry and Kayley Thomas will be featuring a report about Kids in Glass Houses on tour - a band BBC Radio Wales is following throughout the year as well as previewing their session on Good Evening Wales later in the day.

Jamie and Louise (9 AM - Midday)

As part of the 'Big Red Scarf Tour' Jamie and Louise are live in Wrexham with Mike Peters performing live. There will also be live music from Heal the Last Stand.

The Phone-In (featuring Wales Music Day from 1 PM -2 PM)

Pete Lawrie will be performing live, plus there's your chance to talk about Welsh music.

The Roy Noble show (2 PM - 4 PM)

Musician and presenter Stuart Cable will be joining Roy throughout the programme, plus there's live music from Georgia Ruth Williams and Paper Aeroplanes.

Good Evening Wales (4 PM - 6.30 PM)

Kids In Glass Houses will be appearing and playing live during the programme.

The Evening Show (7 PM - 10 PM)

Alan Thompson, Adam Walton and Mal Pope introduce three hours of live music, with performances from:
