You can most definately pull off some awsome metal sounds with marshall. Their the best you dont need overpriced mesa dribble, their good no doubt but marshall gotta be the one.

The only area marshall beats mesa is cost, thats why i got one hehe....
Mesa absolutly kills marshall sound wise, our other guitarist has a Mesa Rectifier Solo 50 Head and its owns my TSL 122 which is like the marshall flagship, top of the range amp.

ahhhh well were all talking on personal opinion, i myself will tell you that marshall can pull off a better sound than any guitarists mesa, and you can argue all day that their better but there you go, agree to disagree, btw, can anyone tell me why mesa are so fucking expensive, theres no need they dont cos that much more to make. greedy mesa cunts

it's all about Orange for guitar amps. or Hughes and Kretscher[<spelling?] for bass amps. But the Peavey TNT for bass combos.

Mesa are so much dolla cos its all hand made and better materials than marshall.
Mesa are for a more specific type of person, whereas marshall is for the masses so they build their stuff cheap to sell loads, ever heard of a mesa practice amp? I think not.
(sorry im just having a rant cos my marshall footswich lead is a piece of shit hehe, they are both quality amps, just stay away from that digital modeling stuff, valve is the ONLY way )

someone ask yourself how many bands have played and recorded without the aid of valves, my friend in a lot of cases they can be emulated without you even knowing it, especially with todays technology. the fuckin purists will argue that you can hear the difference but really speaking you can pull it off well easily

personally, i preffer valve amps, they just got that extra ooomph that solid states don't have.... althou you ca emulate them nowadays with pods and v-amps and such...
