Thread: battle of the bias

many of you will know that monsters4GODS lost by a considerable margin yesterday night despite putting on one of their best gigs ever.

ollie had an amazing voice, but is that what the battle should have been won on?

which judge only scored us 35%? thats the only sickening thing

its just a popularity contest, and as such we wouldnt expect to win, but they dress it up to make it appear like you get rewarded for things i believe we do well.


plus the third best band won on wednesday night as well.

it just shows all you need to be is mainsteam and inoffensive.
if thats what it takes, fuck them, i wont sell out that cheaply

just want to say that although i dont agree 100% (lets call it 95%) with phil here, monsters4gods are gutted that we came third, behind a guy who stood pretty much still on stage, ocassionaly playing bass, with another guy stood behind a sampler, playing one 20 minute long drum&bass song. He was a top lad but in a battle of the bands that we were told was marked on both stage presense and lyrics its hard to see how we dropped 50 points to him. but still honestly good luck to ollie baron ,he was a lovely lad and got a hell of a voice on him, ofcourse lithone are going to slay him ,but good luck anyway

True - he was just stood on stage but y'know, all the acts were good last night and who are we to argue with the womens officer and an all round ents supergirl? Ollie did have a wicked voice (very Matthew jAY esque) and protean motion were a breath of fresh air - but if truth be told, despite looking very disapointed last night (im good at this play acting) - its not so much the setback of losing (after all, we were up against considerable talent) but the fact that despite this loss they wouldnt show us the fuckin marks. Surely, the whole point of losing is knowing how to improve and a marks sheet would have been nice...what was it that let us down cos i tried my hardest tto look like a twat on stage to improve stage presence! i really did :-) Its like ents saying "fuck u, u were shit" but not telling us why. So, i would say this should be sorted out next year.

Also, its a shame that opium rnt in the final but it can only really be Lithone i reckon-

good luck to ollie tho - he is very smiley :-)... and phil, that band who won heat 4 were pretty good.

Fuck criticising ne other bands - every1s doin there stuff and its great so big up the swansea scene and lets get some more gigs on! yeah...

..you sure about that???...spankdaddy were in that heat too you know.

i know its cool to slag off spankdaddy, but i thought they were good, cheeky and that, and could clearly sing better than primary evasion, had better songs than primary evasion, were more fun, made me more interested etc

yeah jailbait r up 4 gigs, and yeah BOTB was a fucking joke with judges that probably go home + listen 2 S Club Juniors!! i mean how can u judge a solo artist against a band, or 2 guys wiv keyboards etc against bands, total shit like, if we play nx year it just be 4a crack like, i hope lithone hopfully win cos they rock, cadence+glow=2 mellow as fcuk like,cant hack that shit, boring as fcuk! ne way geta that gig on the go, be a crak

p.s. riche j and bear, i cant make final gota go ome, but the 3 cracks wiv guitar jailbait, drums floor 6 and spankdaddy was enough to put me off
