Thread: Where are they now??

Ok, we've come to a conclusion that there are hardly any bands left from the glory days of 2002/2003, so I thought maybe we could make a thread of "where are they now?" so everyone can kind of catch up with who is still playing in bands, who has given up and got married etc.

Please feel free to correct anything..


THE BLACKOUT/TEN MINUTE PREVIEW
are now seemingly owning the rock world.

MIDASUNO
sadly split up a couple of months back...
Scott - playing in a new dual bassed band called "Exit International" with Adam Thomas who some people may remember from these parts, and Fudge who used to be in Martini Henry Rifles etc.
Jessop & Matt - were in All The Damn Vampires, who then split. Matt joined Cell Mates who then split.
Chris - started band with Len, Glenn and Chaz called "Accident Music" who split recently.
Hoppy - now married to Shelley (RMs regular) had baby. Reunited with Midasuno for one gig.
Lyndon - left Midasuno around 2006. Toured with DOPAMINE and ATTACK! ATTACK! a fair bit, but isnt in any bands at the moment

CARSONDOWN
Split up in 2004.
Ross - quiet for the moment.
Aled/Salad -doing an art degree.
Nicky - singing and guitaring in THE SHORTCUTS.
Richard Hill - last heard of playing drums in a Neath band THE COMMITTED.
Kob - last I knew, played drums in pop punk band Set In Motion, who have now changed their name?

PEDRO
Rhys is still in TMP/The Blackout and is famous.
G Man was last seen in Koolers a few years back.

POTHOLE
Split up in 2004.
Benj - joined MLM after Pothole. Left them and joined MISS CONDUCT who have now changed their name to S!RENS. Not in them anymore.
Adumb - currently playing guitar in MAY CONTAIN NUTS. Not any more, though.
Joey - currently not involved in music, is a well known graffiti artist in Cardiff.
Cerys - finishing university, still doing music but no known bands, was in Cardiff hardcore band MISUSE not so long ago.

FESTERIN NUN
Sadly split up in 2007.
Rhys has a family/baby etc.
Addis is marrying a girl from America and is moving out there in 2012 at some point.
Kony now in GUNG HO.
Rick is in EVIL TURKEYS.
Dan moved to France, probably still there.


STUPID BRICK
Split up in 2008.
Lost both main singers over the years. Res started singing for them for a while, but they split up. Ed seems to be in Australia/NZ based on his facebook.

REZMO
Stayed as a 3 piece after Sukhy left to go to university. As of 2007 they changed their name to THE ABORTIONS and are split between Bristol and Swansea.

MOOK
are now minus a member or two and are essentially called THE SMUT PUPPETS, but the last time I spoke to any of them it seemed this band were mainly over and out.
Doz started an electronic project with James from Petes Sake called DISCHORDANCE. This doesn't seem to be going anymore.
Doz is now in CLAYSTATUES with the other Doz. Doz is also in about 5million other bands.

Split up early 2004.
My favourite unsigned band ever!!
Chris joined MIDASUNO, who then split. He is now in ACCIDENT MUSIC (split)
Slim joined ALONG CAME MAN who have also now split.
Glenn joined HADDONFIELD who are awesome and are still going strong (correction: split)

ALONG CAME MAN
Along Came Man split up for good a few weeks back. After 2 or 3 "splits" over the years. They had a fair amount of members, so I`ll only go over the ones I can remember.
Androo - works as an editor/cameraman, lots to do with S4C.
Slim - goes to college in Neath last time I saw him, now is engaged and works with children.
Cerys - finishing some type of degree that will make her the most qualified person in Wales. Played in OPENFIRE and MISUSE for a while.

CHEMICAL REACTION
Adam - started MY LITTLE MURDER with Benj pothole. believe last time I heard he was doing some kind of teaching/teching at a college in Gwent.
Ryan Steadman - joined MY LITTLE MURDER. still there. (split)
Murf - joined ROUTINE CHECK for a while. I dont believe he is doing anything band wise atm. Seems to be travelling the world.
Nick Briggs - joined a German ska band and now seems to spend his time between London, Germany and Cardiff.
Gavin Fitzjohn - has done some work with GET CAPE WEAR CAPE FLY and PAOLO NUTINI. Was last seen on TV at Glastonbury playing for old Paolo.

PETES SAKE
Mike - just started a new band called PORTRAITS. aside from this he is starting a recording studio of some sort and works at the DVLA.
James - also in PORTRAITS with Mike, and also does stuff with Doz from Mook under the name DISCHORDANCE.
Ryan - joined MIDASUNO for a few months after the PS split. Then joined DOPAMINE and moved to ATTACK! ATTACK!
Griff - had a chill for a while at uni, then joined ATTACK! ATTACK!

FIVE MILES OUT
After a few lineup changes, they split up earlier this year.
Marc Dowding joined THE STORY SO FAR in 2006. (split)
Stan/drummer is now in a metal band as a lead vocalist/guitarist. We played with them a few months ago - but they did not have a name as of yet.

PSYCHO SQUAD/SKWAD
Split up earlier this year.

Todd - runs SKWAD HQ recording studio which is doing amazing. Now in Straight Lines.
Mike - is a driving instructor last I heard
Dane - is also in STRAIGHT LINES, who are also getting out and about a fair bit.
Rhys (Old Psycho Squad drummer) - now drums in Pub rock band INTERSTATE.(SPLIT)

CAPTAIN SMASH
Split up a few years ago, essentially minus a member they have come back as POST 84.
Now split between a few bands, namely Zinc Bukowski and Gung Ho, sort of.

OPIUM/COVERGIRL/CRYWOLF
Ceri - moved to Birmingham. joined a band called ORTEGA(?) but I believe he has now left this band?
Dai Dot - left COVERGIRL, now works for a company whose name escapes me.
Iwan - Is now in PORTRAITS with Mike and James from Petes Sake. (split)
Rich - tours a lot with The Blackout, does tech stuff for them I believe.
Alistair - when ADAMWENTHOME split up he joined Covergirl. He is now in PORTRAITS. (split)

THE NEXT NINE YEARS
Split up in 2006.
Played a one off gig of sorts a few months ago as a fundraiser for Beth.
Andrew Shay is now in KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES.
Thom was briefly in CAESARS ROME.
Padge now playing in hardcore bands all over.

FEENIX/FOUR WAYS TO FALL
Jon Con joined Guildford based band SENNAH (split). Runs a recording studio near Porthcawl.
Joey and Ped joined with Gar from THE AUTONOMY WITHIN as a new band I AM HOPE.
Jordan started a practice room in Bridgend which is apparently awesome. (possibly closed)

THE AFTERLIFE
Chaz - joined THE UCA CHAPTER, then FIVE MILES OUT. Now in ACCIDENT MUSIC (split)
Len - joined THE UCA CHAPTER. Briefly played in a band called HORRORCANES which featured several Midasuno members. Didnt gig.
Chris - joined THE UCA CHAPTER, then MIDASUNO. Now in ACCIDENT MUSIC (split)
Sturdy - joined THE SCIENCE CLUB. Got more tattoos. Became a Bus driver.
Stan - joined FIVE MILES OUT, now in unknown metal band.

FALLIBLE
Jon - joined SAVAGE HENRY who have now split up? And is also in THREAT MANIFESTO (split), now in BRING TO RUIN.
Chris - went to uni. Now near the end of a Film course. (last saw down CCFC. no idea)
Darren - joined SHE DIED IN JUNE as a bassist, then THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING. Now works in IT in Swansea, and despite how much I bug him will not join a band.
Kyle - does various sound work. Mastered THREAT MANIFESTOs EP and also does live sound at Bar Inc, Pontypridd. (last whereabouts unknown)

DISPARAGE/THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING
Came to a period of inactivity in 2007. Performed a one off charity gig in Summer 2008.

LOOMUS
Karl - is starting a new band with Elliot. Is also involved in the new band with Jessop and Matt from Midasuno
Elliot - in a band with Karl.

WHEN REASON SLEEPS
Sean was in THE BLACKOUT at the same time as WRS and is still in TBO. He can be seen either in Merthyr/on MTV.
Alex is now in THE GUNS and briefly did the whole EMO GIRL IN TROUBLE TROUBLE.
Antony started a band called JUMP THE UNDERGROUND (split)
Tom also joined THE GUNS.
Dopez was involved in KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES for a while but then left. Currently involved in some kind of side project with random members of DOPAMINE and THE BLACKOUT.

CAUSE FOR CONCERN
Iain joined DOPAMINE, then joined KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES

DOUGLAS
Douglas split in 2004/2005.
Colin started some TV presenting (The Guestlist/Pop Factory etc) and started a band called THE NEW 1920s
Jamie roadied for THE AUTOMATIC a lot, he can be seen playing bass for them whenever they do that dreadful cover song.

OFFPISTE
Split in 2003.
Skyrme joined JOHNNY MENTAL and then joined 21 MEADOW ST, last whereabouts unknown - he has stopped posting on SWM.

KIDS IN GLASS HOUSES
turn on Kerrang!, they are on it a lot.
Now big.

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND
supported thisgirl at RMs then got huge.
Gareth left this year.

LOSTPROPHETS
are large.
Mike left in 2005 and started a practice room around Cilfynydd/Ponty.

PRINCE OF FOCHRIW

Owen is now married and lives in Swansea. He is starting a side project band of sorts with his brother Rhys (of The Arteries)
Alastair joined COVERGIRL/CRYWOLF for a brief time. is now in PORTRAITS.
Dave left Adamwenthome in 2004?. He went to uni in Cardiff. Unknown where he is now.

SILICONE FISH
Silicone Fish are now essentially THE ARTERIES. Who are now signed to Household Name Records.

THINK PRETTY
Laura now plays solo acoustic shows under the Think Pretty name. Last time I spoke to her (at a Midasuno gig at 10 feet tall) she said she was looking to either re-form or start a full band under the name.

Tariq - Is in a band - and apparently he missed practice last week because he was so stoned

Rhys - Did a 6 month tour of Iraq

Smutly - Doing his degree in Swansea. Still in the band

Kluck - is still ginger but has recently died his beard blonde. He owns a tyre garage in Brynmawr and runs a taxi firm with his dad. Hes also still in the band

The band have just started giging again and have a demo out soon

This could turn into one big South Wales rock family tree!....tis most interesting and pretty sad considering the amount of bands that are no more................for my part well Coronajones

Sam (Drums) went back home to Surrey after uni and is now drumming in a couple of bands in the London area
Matt (Bass) quit bass to start playing guitar again and is forming a new band next year in an early Foo Fighters style
Craig (Vocals/Guitar) Not exactly sure but i think he laid down his 6 stringer to concentrate on his love of surfing

A south wales rock family tree would be the most excellent thing ever. NICKY - MAKE THIS HAPPEN. We could flog it at gigs and give the proceeds to charity.

Dodgem - X

Luke D - moved to mid - wales to start a business in alternative meats. He lost a finger trying to catch his llamas after word got out among the flock of his new improved "llama en croute" recipe.

Forge - checked into a sexual addiction clinic last year. there, he met david duchovenny and will guest appear in a new x - files series.

Gibbs - Gibbs runs a male only yoga centre and can now get both legs behind his head.

Bodman - Bodman has moved to Yorkshire to teach 10 smelly people how to cook. He hopes that they inturn will teach 10 of their smelly friends, and so on.

Andrew - Andrew went for a family day out in St Fagans and decided to live in one of the Rhyd - Yr - Car cottages. He has no teeth due to his diet consisting of mainly barley sugars.

Dale - was in DOWNTURN, ECHOPILOT, now doing something with another band and started his own label.

Doz & Mavis - started CLAY STATUES late 2007, on Cardiff label Tantrum, keeping the dream alive.

Chunk (singer) - was working in butlins, then disneyland, now think he's jamming stuff out with Ryan the drummer.

Simon Ng (guitar) - finished uni in Nottingham (?) now works in a bank i think.

Ryan (drummer) - became a pilot, living in Rhigos with his missus, think he's jamming with Chunk?

James (guitar) - was in Swansea uni, no idea what he's doing..dropped off the radar a little.

Mavis - did play bass with TEMPTATION IS DYING then decided he could play drums, played with THE FIREBRAND..then formed CLAY STATUES.
