hmmmmm, they are just another good sounding pub rock band in the same league as 4th street traffic IMO.

well if thats not a damning indictment i dont know what is - at the moment, id rather fellate a horse than go to this festival - seems to be missing out a lot of whats different and interesting about the local scene at the moment, ok, to be fair, double bookings took out some intereting names, but as the majority of the lineup is completely gash regardless of genre it makes non difference. There are so many new and interesting bands in South Wales at the moment that would greatly benefit from this kind of festival, and theyve all been over looked for borderline tribute acts and pub rock. Its a shame, cos i was seriously interested in the concept of this festival until the lineup was announced

the clashes are horrific! there is no incentive to go from venue to venue as the time scales make it impossible.

and if luke's not going, im not going. *** folds arms and pouts ***

    Name The Bands For Me.......

I work with so many diffeent music companies and 80% of the artists on the lineup have something.

    Which Clashes?

    There are varying finishing times.

We looked at this as much as possible but its tough to keep bands happy and we have had no complaints from them (we can rejig the lineup to avoid clashes)

saturday alone i would get to watch 10 mins of haddonfield before id have to piss off to corona jones, or miss one of the two, and wouldnt get to see novocainnes or the guns.

also, why should i be excited about watching stuart cable and the killing for companies when i read this?

DiS + Huw = Swn: Cardiff gets a 'crawl'

One MAHOOSIVE coherent approach to this would have made it amazing, right now you have too many promoters and sponsors trying to bend punters over.

so who is headlining the barfly now (the lineup we're on)?

agreed - not getting to see and support midasuno is rather gutting.

What a load of bollocks double booked by their management that's a bullshit excuse if ever I heard one and you knew over a week or so ago!!!!!!! So Coronajones are now opening up for two acoustic/jangly/indie type bands and a UK fall out boy. Oh dear.

Nah, don't think it it is bollocks - Midasuno's gig list has shown for a while that they are playing Plymouth on that date which was why I was surprised when I read they were doing this on the same date.

Buuuuuuuuut I looked at Festival 24's website on Tuesday to find that the line-up wasn't on the site anymore and when I checked again yesterday it was there minus bloody Midasuno. I agree, if they've known for over a week that one of the bands headlining has dropped out, they should have let people know straight away!

I agree, especially with the logistics of the event, the headliners will account for 95% of the people in the venue on the night, so its important that information is shared quicker in this respect.

I beg to differ...Corona Jones didn't even know that thelineup had changed in Barfly and they're playing.

I feel your pain guys - it must be a logistical nightmare but you've got to be upfront with people from the start. Use this forum, post it in big bold letters on your website, just let everyone know. Let people make their own mind up.

If I hadn't questioned Midasuno disappearing off the line-up would you even have told people? It could get really messy for you if people are heading somewhere to watch a band and then find out they aren't even gonna be playing.

Midasuno agreed to play for us initially, but their management then booked a gig in plymouth.

The Midasuno boys apologised profusely and hoped it wouldnt spoil our relationshp. It Does not.

We had posted on various forums, sent emails etc so if you did not hear then we apologise.

Scouting for girls are a very good band if Corona Jones want to move to a different venue we can accomodate that if it suits everyone.

Logistically this is tough as we have so many different genres (not like NME & Channel Flys The Great Escape and Camden Crawl) where it is all INDIE.

So we cannot get 100% perfect and satisy everyones needs to watch all the bands they like but we have done a great job (as this seems to be the only major issue) but we can move Cornoa Jones if they want to.

Our Website was updated a day or so late due to Confirmation of the new bands and qwithin 2 days of us finding out about midasuno and during a move from London to Cardiff.

Tickets are very cheap for our Festival now with the bands playing, this is something new for Cardiff and we along with you can make this gro and have it bigger and better next year.

    Regards

It does state on the site that the Lineup is subject to change, and we are issuing the price difference refunds on the tickets where people have paid the initial ticket prices,

We have replaced Midasuno with a band on who have a sligtly higher profile than them currently.

We really wanted them on the bill and are disappointed that this happened but they are happy and so are we.
