Probably because people like those bands/pay to go and see those bands.

And don't like the other bands/won't pay to go and see the other bands.

Makes sense really.

Generally they are the bands that get off their arse and push themselves. Some of them are good some are dire dogturd. In fact most are the latter. We've had this discussion a million times on this board. If ALL of your band are 110 percent and put shitloads of effort in round here you cant really fail.
