Thread: STRONGBOX STUDIO MOVING & EXPANDING

We have secured new premises in Leckwith - near Hadfield Road, Cardiff. We will be moving in early March 2006.
The new premises will feature a MUCH larger main live room - acoustically designed to sound superb, as well as another TWO live areas, big enough to double up as rehersal rooms. So we will be able to offer new style recording sessions where you can track entirely live with complete track seperation - great for bands that want to lay 6 tracks in a day!
This will be a different price structure than studio production recording and is aimed at bands doing thier first demos. Basically the band will setup, with amps in seperate rooms to the drums - the band then all play in the main live room with the drums with headphone feeds - the singer will be in the vocal booth - everyone will have eye contact, and tracks will have complete seperation. We will to be able to offer 'live' studio standard recording of the very highest quality. This means bands can slam down the tracks as fast as they can play them well. The mixing for these sessions will take place in a seperate session at a fixed price also. Stay tuned as we develop this idea further.
Also we will have private parking for 6 cars and a private loading bay, which is great as i just got my 2nd parking ticket this year.

We will be installing a new TRIDENT recording console, along with Apogee AD&DA16x audio convertors and adding a Chandler LTD1 preamp and Al Smart C2 bus compressor. This might not mean much to most people, but along with the equipment we already have this will mean the equipment quality at STRONGBOX will be inconparable to nay other studio in the area until you fancy paying £500/day.
Our current prices will stay much the same as we settle into the new premises.
This will make us #1 choice for all discerning bands & musicians.

We will also be providing a very high quality studio drumkit - we are still deciding on what type (dw, yamaha....suggestions anyone). It will always have new heads, and always be in tune - and it will be permanently mic'ed up - this is going to save you a lot of time!!!!!! And be a hell of a lot better than the pile of tubs most drummers drag along when they come to us.

ALSO we will have REHERSAL facilties. Full Quality PA in each room, and a great selection of backline. The rehersal rooms will be priced in line with the other facilties around the area- but will be new, clean and all the gear will work!

Also we will be adding new amps to our backline collection, and providing full gear hire for the rehersal studios & recording.

We will continue to offer a full production, recoring, mixing and mastering service as before, but everything is going to be better.

Sooooo, I'm off to get up to my ass in floating floors concrete slabs and about nine and a half tons of slab rockwool. yeehaaa.
