the day has come chaps, the renault 19 (purple diesel BDTY wagon), is finally to be put to rest on friday morning.
its been a good 2 and a half years, we`ve had some life changing experiences, from picking up my girlfriend on our first ever day together, to ending up a ditch in pencoed, from scraping it on my own garden gate, to driving to london by accident, to making it home from birmingham at 4.45am in time for work, a reading festival, countless bristol gigs, taking 4 people and half a backline to london and back....
anyway, those close to the band will know the renault 19 has had it tough over the last few months, he takes half the band and my cab up and down the country on a regular basis at about 55mpg without fail..... but recently.... oil has started appearing under the hood...
ive had about 2 cars die of a similar fate, the signs were obvious..... (drama).
it leaked a shitload in aberdare on saturday, and left about a litre on lewis' driveway. we thought it was all over, we thought we might not even get home... turns out i made a mistake and didnt tighten everything up right... so the "massive" oil leaks, were in fact not....
cut a long story short.... its still leaking like a bugger, and ive given up. ive gone the way of the jay, and bought a blue 2003 peugeot 206 which i pick up on friday morning.
so, this will be a thread to not only say goodbye to the old car that gave us so many beautiful memories, but also to say hello to the new nicky mobile....
