2 gigs in the same day and i'm shattered. Had masive whiplash today but still was worth it. Big thanks to Game On and Rms for letting us play the all dayer, seemed to go alright once we got up there, had problem with jordan breaking sticks on the way up so had to find sticks when we got up there (cos he's ugly). Wanted to stay around to see adzuki and The blackout but had to leg it down to bridgend.

The rec was pretty cool although touched by midas took a fucking age starting their set (colin stressed out big time). Although guessin 14 cans of stellar may make you slightly fucked. Ashes gathering dust were awesome as well. Cheers to everyone who came down for the gigs, any feedback on either of them would be wicked and hope to see everyone soon.

Third way to fall - jon con off the speakers at the rec.

ended up in the rec gig not too bad took a while to pick up, you lot, tbm, and agd were the good sets of the night - im kinda getting sick of the first few sets in the rec, bands of 12 year old boys doing metallica impressions. yawn!!

got there when touched by midas went on stage and took them a while to set up (base being fucked off his tits and not having a clue what was goin on). I think rec gigs would be better if they didn't have as many bands playing and just have 3/4 bands playing longer sets but I know it ain't gonna happen.

next rec gig - SONIC THRUST!

wasn't so much falling but jumping off and stumbling when i landed

i didnt notice really....
id been there for ages me and shiv just sat in the bar chugging pints from about half 6 so i didnt catch on.

best way really. loads of people missed it.

nah i was standing there watching you lot play, i still missed it! i was prob laughing at something/someone or telling people about my plan to get jim corr notcied (remember, i had been drinking for ages at this point)

phil won't be in action in the next rec gig, he's not in sonic thrust, sex ain't playing, he just offered sonic thrust the gig

Sonic Thrust make their first appearance in wales for over 20 years when they play a special homecoming gig as part of their finale "Better than SEX" tour at Bridgend Recreation Centre on Saturday May 8th.

The band first stormed into Rock and Roll 25 years ago with hit singles such as "I'm the father of all your children", "Spank My Bondage ASS" and the greatest of them all "NA - NA NA NA -NA NA NA - NA NA NA - YEAH! YEAH! YEAH!"

Bassist Franky "Firepants" Mcarthy said in a recent interview "Its been such a long time since we played our hometown Bridgend we felt we owed them the show of their lives as a way of saying thank you to the huge support they've shown us in recent years. It really will be a special gig and I can say wholeheartedly and with upmost confidence that in the 25 or so years we've been together and on the road, we haven't felt this excited since walking onstage at Wembley stadium! It really will be a special gig"

Guitarist Simon "Sugardaddy" Sinatra added "We've always kept a close contact with our great friends (and underground gods of rampant rock) SEX and whilst talking to Phil on the phone the other night he asked us if we'd play a comeback show in the recreation centre next month... To say I jumped at the chance was a bit of an understatement. I got off my seat, put my favourite lepordskin jumpsuit on and headed to his house to show him how greatful we would be, all 7 members of the band did. It really does mean something when people offer you shows like this and I guess in a way, it will be our way of repaying Phil for the continued support over the last 2 decades"

Sonic Thrust consist of 7 band members: Sir Thrustalot, lead vocals and father of all your children, Franky “Fire pants” McCarthy (bassist and as his namesake suggests, fire pants), Simon “Sugar daddy” Sinatra on Lead Guitar brings an exceptional level of thrust to the band with solos that would make Jimmy Page and Steve Vai run to the Hills and for their lives. The original drummer Terry Ironlung was replaced by Zeepop Zebra the black and white monkey boy after his tragic death in L.A. - they played Thrust of Death and Franky set himself ablaze as usual but his fire pants unexpectedly set off the stolen Pyro backstage setting off a massive explosion and killing terry. Zeepop also brought a new dimension to the band by introducing the band to his german genetic clone Hans Grúber, the classically trained pianist, who rocks harder than your grandmother’s rocking chair. The final addition to the band is Enrique Montanna, originally from Columbia and illegally imported into the country in 1966 to work as Sex Slave in Camdens underworld, the Thrust took him under his wing and taught him the basic fundamentals of rock and roll and “Rockoutwithyourcockout” he became a fine understudy of the Sugardaddy and has been a vital member to the thrusts progress in the past 25years such to an extent when he was set to be imported back to Columbia, the thrust sent their ex manager (Mlyn Gills) in his place.

Sadly however this will be Sonic Thrusts LAST EVER GIG and you would be a fool to miss the rock and roll event of the millenia.
